JUST IN: Niger Delta Group Insists On Akpabio; Says He Does Not Hate Northerners

 By May 7, 2023
The Niger Delta Renaissance Organisation NDRO has assured northerners that Sen. Godswill Akpabio does not hate Nigerians and is not an ethnic bigot.

The group while reacting to a statement by a northern group through its National Coordinator Comrade Nwokoma Messiah said that  Akpabio as governor of Akwa Ibom State hates the northerners an allegation which the Niger Delta group said was a big lie.

"As governor of Akwa Ibom State, Obong Akpabio it is in record that he was among the first southern governors to appoint a personal assistant on Islamic Affairs in 2011.

He also encouraged a cordial relationship between not only northerners but non indigenes wherever they came from and the people of Akwa Ibom"

The group described the allegations of the northern group as misleading and not the reality as regards the character of the former Minister of Niger Delta Affairs.

His Excellency Obong Sen. Godswill Akpabio is one of the most detribalised Nigerians. He went to secondary school in Port Harcourt, practised as a lawyer in Lagos, is married to an Igbo woman and has served President Muhammadu Buhari with loyalty.
His Excellency Muhammadu Buhari and His Excellency Sen. Godswill Akpabio

He is a cosmopolitan politician who cannot and will not disregard any Nigerian based on regional or religious bias so insinuating that he hates a particular people is to say the least, a manipulation of facts" the statement added.

The group hailed the endorsement of the former minority leader of the Senate by a coalition of norther groups describing it as a sign of acceptance by majority of people from the region who will encourage their representatives in the red chamber of the National Assembly to do the needful by electing a Senate President that will be a nationalist.
