Youths Protest Mohbad's Death, Demand Justice

The Police Force Public Relations Officer, Olumuyiwa Adejobi, has said the force will look into the petition made by the late singer, Ilerioluwa Aloba, aka Mohbad, against music promoter, Samson Balogun, aka Sam Larry.
A petition written by the late Mohbad over an alleged threat to life by Sam Larry and others surfaced online days after the singer’s death.
The petition alleged that Sam Larry and 15 others stormed a video shoot where Mohbad and another artiste, Zlatan Ibile, were working and unleashed violence.Sharing a copy of the petition on his X page on Tuesday, the FPRO tweeted, “We will look into the alleged police negligence on this case.”
The Lagos Annex, Force Criminal Investigation Department of the Nigeria Police Force, Zone 2, Alagbon, to whom the letter was addressed, had revealed that it had invited Sam Larry and others, following the receipt of the June 27 petition, but Mohbad was absent.
Slain Rivers DPO: Four killed, prime suspect flees
The Rivers State Police Command said its men had killed four suspects linked to the murder of the Ahoada Divisional Police Officer, Superintendent Bako Angbashim.
Also, it said three members of the dare-devil gang were arrested, with a locally made pistol recovered.
The Command, however, stated that the prime suspect, Gift Okpara, who captured and decapitated the police officer fled during a fierce gun battle with operatives in Odumude community, Ahoada West Local Government Area of Rivers State.
The state Commissioner of Police, Emeka Nwonyi, disclosed this at a news briefing at the Command Headquarters in Port Harcourt on Tuesday.
Nwonyi expressed annoyance that despite Angbashim’s murder, the miscreants were still ready to inflict more pain on the command, saying they opened fire immediately they cited operatives, who responded with superior firepower, leading to the death of four of them.
He, however, stated that despite the grief as a result of Angbashim’s gruesome murder, the operation would be sustained until the gang leader and other fleeing gang members were arrested and made to face the law.
Tension rises as eight soldiers, cops feared killed in Imo
The Imo State Police Command has vowed to fish out the killers of the security operatives who were on Tuesday murdered in Umualumaku, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of the state.
Gunmen on Tuesday unleashed mayhem in Umualumaku community, Ehime Mbano Local Government Area of Imo State, killing about eight security operatives comprising soldiers, policemen and men of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps.
The incident which happened at about 9.30am caused panic among residents of the area.
It was gathered that members of the Joint Task Force, who were in two Hilux vans were killed and set ablaze in the patrol vehicles by their attackers
None of them survived as they were burnt inside their operational vehicles.
Speaking on the incident with PUNCH Metro, the spokesperson for the state Police Command, Henry Okoye, confirmed the incident, adding that an investigation had commenced into the brutal killings.
Okoye said, “I have told you that we are investigating. I’m assuring members of the public that we are going to fish out those who are involved and make them face the law.”

It is no more news that the Ondo State Governor, Mr Rotimi Akeredolu, has returned to the country after some months of a medical vacation in the European country of Germany.
After enjoying enough rest at the foreign land , Governor Akeredolu landed in the country a few week ago and went straight to his personal residence in Ibadan , the Oyo State capital, amid jubilation among his family friends and associates, particularly, the political associates.
After informing the state House of Assembly of his return, he settled down and began work immediately.
However, it could be observed that his coming did not go down well with some politicians in the state, most especially those in the camp of the ruling All Progressives Congress.
Some of them had already drawn plans to capitalize on the pitiable health condition of Mr Governor to manoeuvre their ways and take vantage position in the forthcoming governorship election next year against the interest of the governor, thinking that it was all over for the governor to return to the office, due to the news that the governor was incapacitated and would not be fit to rule the state again.
