Rivers State youth leaders Assembly an Apex youth leadership body in the 23 LGA of the State has congratulated Siminialayi Fubara as the Executive Governor of Rivers State
The Supreme Court, has upheld the election of Governor Siminialayi Fubara of Rivers State.
The court, in a unanimous decision by a five-member panel led by Justice Kudirat Kekere-Ekun, on Thursday, dismissed as lacking in merit, an appeal the candidate of the All Progressives Congress, APC, Mr. Tonye Cole, filed to challenge the outcome of the governorship election which was held in the state on March 18, 2023.
In the lead judgement that was delivered by Justice Ibrahim Saulawa, the apex court said it found no reason to dislodge the concurrent verdicts of the Court of Appeal and the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal, which upheld Fubara’s victory at the poll.
Recalled that the APC pulled out from the case against governor Fubara of the Peoples Democratic Party, PDP, while it was being heard by the Rivers State Governorship Election Petitions Tribunal.
In a Congratulatory message to the governor of River State, Siminialayi Fubara, the Rt. Hon. Speaker of the Rivers State Youth Leaders Assembly, His Eminence, Hon. (Amb.) Dr. Prince Tonye Jeminimiema and the Principal Officers of the Assembly celebrates with stakeholders and residents of the state, urging the governor to be focused and resilient as he delivers the dividends of democracy.
Furthermore, Dr. Jeminimiema pledges support to governor Fubara's Administration, while maintaining that the rivers people will always remain patriotic and will not allow or entertain any form of distraction or external influence that will disrupt peace and harmony in the state moving forward.
