Chijioke Ihunwo, Chairman of the National Youth Council of Nigeria, aired his grievances concerning the ongoing crisis in Rivers State during an interview with Arise TV. He disclosed his shared community and local government background with Martin Amaewhule, emphasizing his frustration with both Amaewhule and the members of the Rivers State House of Assembly.
During the interview, Ihunwo asserted that the governor possesses the authority to visit any location within the state, including the Assembly quarters. He expressed apprehension over the lack of clarity regarding the alleged offense of the governor, highlighting the unacceptable nature of the current state of affairs in Rivers State.
In his statement, Ihunwo stressed the governor's role as the chief security officer of the state, affirming his prerogative to visit any area within Rivers State as deemed necessary. He took the opportunity to convey his shared sentiment with Amaewhule, emphasizing their collective weariness with individuals whom he perceives as seeking to exploit the state for personal gain.
Drawing attention to the absence of clear allegations against the governor, Ihunwo questioned the legitimacy of the ongoing crisis, urging for transparency and accountability in addressing the situation. He voiced a growing discontent among residents, signaling a broader dissatisfaction with the prevailing circumstances in Rivers State.

And let me tell Nigerians, Martin Amaewhule and I isare from the same community and the same local government; we're sick and tired of these people. These are the people who want to loot our state.
Now, what is the offence of the governor of Rivers State? Up until now, nobody has told us. So I think we are no longer happy with the thread of things in our state."
