The International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has sworn in Amb. Sunday Lawal as it's new Coordinator for Abuja.
The association also appointed the outgoing FCT Coordinator as Co Head of the association's Spiritual Caucus.
Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke the International Spokesman of the association made this known in a press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja the nation's capital.
He announced that the International Director of the association Amb. Prof. Chidi Ehudiero swore in Amb. Steven Lawal as well other members of the association who were given other appointments. They include Amb. Capt. Paul Adamu Nwacgukwu who was given a life Patron of the association. Others are Amb. Nelson Ogbemudia as the Head Anti Corruption Unit and Amb Tom John as the Permanent Representative of the association to the African Union.
Their swearing in took place at the Merit House, Abuja, Nigeria when the association had a one day public lecture in commemoration of the United States of America Independence Day.
The statement said Amb Lawal is a committed global peace Ambassador whose committed to expanding the ideals of the association has aimed him his appointment. "Amb. Lawal is a committed peace advocate whose administrative skill is needed to expand the frontiers of the association and also building partnerships that is needed to ensure that the ideals of the association is felt"
The statement also said that consequent on the expiration of the appointment of Amb. Prophetess Happiness Ebube, she has been appointed as Co head of the association's Spiritual Caucus. This appointment will also come with her nomination as the focal person for the Church Centre For the United Nations in New York.
The theme of the lecture which is "United Nations and World Peace: A Perspective of Idealism" centred on the contributions of the United States to global peace and was presented by Amb. Tom John.
