As the United Nations observes the forthcoming International Day of Police Cooperation,, the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has announced that the chairman of Gwagwalada Area Council Hon. Abubakar Giri will receive it's Eminent Peace Ambassador award/Appointment this year.
A press statement made available to newsmen in Abuja the Federal Capital Territory FCT and signed by the Coordinator of IAWPA FCT chapter,, Amb. Sunday Lawal said the award presentation will take place at Merit House, Maitama Abuja on Thursday the 5th of September 2024
The statement said the Inspector General of Police Kayode Egbetekun is expected as he Special Guest of Honour while the World Peace President Amb Per Stafsen from the Kingdom of Denmark, will officially present the award to Hon. Abubakar Giri.
Amb. Lawal said the choice of Abubakar Giri is as a result of his peace advocacy initiatives within the the Council and the numerous supports he has given the Nigeria Police Force in the discharge of its duties.
The statement also said Dr. Limota Goroso Giwa who is the Deputy Director, Sustainable Development Centre,
University of Abuja and a consultant with the United Nations is expected to be the guest speaker at the event.
It said the Council will be recommended to the United Nations for better support in its quest to deliver on the Sustainable Development Goals SDG of the United Nations.
