In a bold move, Burkina Faso President Captain Ibrahim Traore has introduced a series of reforms aimed at promoting economic equality and boosting agricultural production. The Head of State has reduced ministers' and politicians' salaries by 30%, while increasing workers' salaries by 50%.
In a remarkable display of leadership by example, President Traore has refused to accept a president's salary, instead opting to maintain his military captain's salary. This move has been hailed as a significant step towards bridging the gap between the ruling elite and ordinary citizens.
Agricultural Development: A Key Priority
President Traore has also prioritized agricultural development, recognizing its critical role in driving economic growth. Early this month, he distributed 400 tractors, 239 tillers, and 710 motor pumps to rural farmers, aimed at boosting agricultural production. Additionally, 714 motorcycles were acquired for the benefit of agricultural agents, further demonstrating the government's commitment to supporting the sector.
These reforms have sparked widespread praise, with many hailing President Traore's leadership as a beacon of hope for a more equitable and prosperous Burkina Faso.
