Executive Secretary, Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board, Dr. Kinikanwo Green has inaugurated the Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Health Authority with the Vice Chairman of Council and Supervisor for Health as Chairman.

The inauguration which took place at the Executive Chambers of the Local Government had in attendance Principal Officers of both the Local Government Council and the Primary Healthcare Management Board.

Inaugurating the Health Authority, Dr. Green disclosed that his team was in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area to revitalize all health facilities in the area and ensure their workability.

According to him, the State Government under the leadership of Sir Siminialayi Fubara is passionate about the health of the citizens and as such has mandated him to ensure the healthcare delivery system at the local level is taken to greater heights; adding that 70 to 80% of a given populace should be attended to at Primary Healthcare Centres as recommended by World Health Organisation (WHO).

The Executive Secretary charged the Authority to live above board, leave no stone unturned and feedback accordingly.

He assured residents of the area of his Board's assistance during emergencies and appealed to them to rally round the present administration in the State to enjoy more dividends of democracy.

Responding, Vice Chairman of Council who is also the Supervisor for Health, Dr. Stella Agada thanked the Executive Secretary for the honour done them and pledged to work assiduously to achieve set objective.

She enumerated a number of health projects and programmes embarked upon by the Vincent Job-led administration in Ogba/Egbema/Ndoni Local Government Area and assured the Board of excellent result in the Primary Health Sector.

The Rivers State Primary Healthcare Management Board has the mandate to tour Primary Healthcare facilities in all 23 Local Government Areas in the State with the aim of getting first-hand information on the functionality or otherwise of such facilities.

The team earlier visited Ndoni District and Omoku Primary Health Centre.
