UN International Day of Education: IAWPA To Appoint Former Bingham University VC Qurix, As Eminent Peace Ambassador

As the world gets set to observe the United Nations International Day of Education, the International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA has announced that it will be conferring an Eminent Peace Ambassador EPA award and appointment on Prof. William Qurix former  Vice Chancellor of the  Bingham University located at the Abuja-Keffi Road Nasarawa State. Qurix just retired from office December 2023. 

A press release issued by the International Spokesman of IAWPA Amb Emmanuel Nkweke said Prof. William Qurix appointment as Eminent Peace Ambassador is a testament of how the foremost academic has used his background as an academician and administrator to foster peace and the realisation of the Sustainable Development Goals SDG of the United Nations when he served as VC. The statement described his 6year stay as a turning point not just for Bingham University but for Missionary tertiary institutions in the country especially in the area of discipline. 

 The International Association Of World Peace Advocates IAWPA which has being in the forefront of the pursuit of global and regional peace and also enjoys a Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council ECOSOC of the United Nations since 2019, said the award and appointment which will be conferred on Prof. Qurix as part of events to mark this year's International Day of Education will also enable him participate in any of the United Nations events and conferences in this year's calendar and i n any part of the globe. 

While reiterating it's commitment to peace with education which is one of the cardinal goals of the SDG programme as a pivot, the association urged the various tiers of government to invest in education considering it's immense  benefit to the quest for peace and  for mankind.
