The African Women Mentoring and Inspiring Initiative (AWMII) has brought relief and support to hundreds of families in Amadi Ama Community through a comprehensive Health and Wellness Outreach. The initiative, which featured free medical services, social support, and empowerment programs, aimed to promote health awareness and provide accessible care to underserved communities, particularly women and girls.
The outreach provided free medical consultations with doctors, malaria testing and treatment, and distribution of free drugs for various ailments. Cervical cancer screening was also conducted, with a few cases of latent stage cancer detected. Patients requiring further management were referred to the Braithwaite Memorial Hospital (BMH).
The program went beyond healthcare, addressing social and economic needs. Over 1000 sanitary pads were distributed, alongside free clothes for women, men, and children. School bags, lunch bags, and school shoes were provided for children, while women received free shoes. Bank accounts were also opened and Bank Verification Numbers (BVN) registered for individuals facing challenges accessing banking services.
Educational sessions were held on drug abuse, cervical cancer awareness, self-care, and breast examination practices. According to Amb. Dr. Mrs. Nissi Ikenna-Amadi, Executive Director of AWMII, the outreach aimed to promote health awareness and provide accessible care to underserved communities.

The organizers expressed heartfelt appreciation to all partners and sponsors, particularly Nigeria LNG (NLNG), for their unwavering support in making the program a success. Amb Dr. Kirti Sudhanshu, founder of Kirti’s Kare Foundation, emphasized the importance of safe and healthy living, educating and empowering women on healthy practices, and called on individuals and organizations to support one another in ensuring a safe society for women and children.
This holistic initiative underscores the importance of healthcare, dignity, education, and financial inclusion in driving community development.
