ADO EKITI, NIGERIA In a move to redefine the parameters of modern security, the ICC Security Management Strategic Studies and Defense Institute, ICCSMSSDI in collaboration with Yes You Can International Academy (YYCIA) UK, has successfully concluded a high-level professional course. The program, titled "Professional Course on Security Education, Leadership, and Traditional & Historical Security Ethics Management" (SELTHSEM), was held on November 13th and 14th, 2025, at the historic Ikogosi Warm Springs Resort in Ado Ekiti.
Integrating Tradition with Modern Strategy
The central theme of the event was a critical message for the global defense community:
Without the integration of traditional methods and historical intelligence, successful security cannot be guaranteed.
The course was spearheaded by the visionary leadership of Prof. Dr. Queen Elizabeth Lucas Afolalu, UK President and Founder of YYCIA and Worldwide Matron/Global Advisor of ICCSMSSDI. Dr. Afolalu led the delegation on this vital research mission to Ikogosi. Working alongside her was Chap. Brig. Gen. Amb. Dr. Comr. Isaac Christian C., the Director General of ICCSMSSDI based in Port Harcourt, Rivers State.

FIELD RESEARCH: THE SECRETS OF IKOGOSI
Moving beyond the classroom, the delegates embarked on a strategic field research expedition to the Ikogosi Warm Springs a site chosen not just for its beauty, but for its historical significance in traditional terrain intelligence.
Guided by the historical narrator, Mrs. Victoria, the story teller experts studied the confluence where warm and cold springs meet, analyzing the lore that has protected and defined the region for centuries.
The Historical Intelligence Report: The research team delved into the origins of the springs, discovered approximately 700 years ago by a hunter and palm-wine tapper from Ile-Ife named AwopeereIje. The research highlighted the symbolic representation of the waters:

The senior wife Awele: Represented by the very cold water; dark in complexion.
Junior wife Aina Orosun: Represented by the mildly cold water; fair in complexion.
The team also documented the history of the hunter’s son, Olosunukangunosi, whose name signifies "a land at the extreme left-hand side."

The Strategic Value of Nature
During the expedition, the ICCSMSSDI team identified specific flora with historical security relevance trees traditionally used for healing and the ceremonial growing of Kings. This discovery reinforces the institute’s stance that understanding the natural environment is crucial for leadership and survival strategies.

The findings from this intensive two-day course and research expedition are currently being compiled. ICCSMSSDI has announced that comprehensive books detailed these traditional security insights will be released shortly. The organizers extended their deepest gratitude to God Almighty for the success of the event and the safe conduct of all delegates.
They also commended the leadership of Prof. Dr. Lucas Afolalu and Chap. Brig. Gen. Isaac Christian, for their continued wisdom in guiding the institute toward new frontiers in security education.
