IGP: Olutunji Rilwan Disu
The Inspector-General of Police, Olutunji Rilwan Disu, has arrived in Kwara State for an operational visit, receiving a warm welcome from top security officials, including Commandant Bala Bawa Bodinga of the Nigeria Security and Civil Defence Corps (NSCDC)
This visit comes as Kwara State is ramping up security measures, with the NSCDC deploying operatives to mosques and churches for Friday and Sunday services. The Commandant has emphasized 24-hour surveillance and patrols to curb criminal activities, and is working closely with other security agencies to enhance intelligence gathering and proactive operations
The state has seen recent security concerns, with the Senate previously summoning the Defence Minister and security chiefs over rising insecurity in Kwara South. The NSCDC is committed to protecting lives and property, with plans to provide security coverage for worship centres and critical national assets
