Akure, Ondo State - The International Association of World Peace Advocates (IAWPA) has been honored with an award by the Amotekun Ondo State Chapter in recognition of its outstanding contributions to peace advocacy.
The award was presented to IAWPA's International Spokesman, Amb. Emmanuel Nkweke, at the Amotekun state headquarters during the International Cooperative Day celebration held at the Dome Center, Akure. Chief Amb. Ade Adeleye, FISN, DCC (Rtd), Chairman of the Council of Amotekun Commanders & Corps, Commander of Ondo State, presented the award to IAWPA.
In a statement signed by Amb. Nkweke, IAWPA commended the Amotekun Ondo State Chapter for its tireless efforts in promoting peace and security in Ondo State and the South West region, aligning with IAWPA's mandate. The organization, with Special Consultative Status under the Economic and Social Council (ECOSOC) of the United Nations since 2019, recognizes the importance of partnerships in advancing peace and development.
IAWPA has chosen Ondo State as a hub for various United Nations programs later this year, leveraging the state's demonstrated commitment to peace and security.
