The National Youth Council of Nigeria (NYCN), Rivers State Chapter, wholeheartedly commends the President and Commander-in-Chief of the Armed Forces of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, His Excellency, Asiwaju Bola Ahmed Tinubu, GCFR, for his visionary leadership and commitment to strengthening the nation’s healthcare system through the approval and release of ₦32.9 billion for the Basic Health Care Provision Fund (BHCPF).
This strategic intervention demonstrates the President’s unwavering dedication to improving access to quality healthcare services, particularly for vulnerable groups across the country. The release of these funds will go a long way in revitalizing primary health care centres, enhancing service delivery, and ensuring that every Nigerian, regardless of social or economic status, can benefit from affordable and efficient healthcare.
The NYCN Rivers State Chapter further appreciates the Federal Ministry of Health and Social Welfare, the National Primary Health Care Development Agency (NPHCDA), and all relevant stakeholders for their proactive roles in driving this laudable initiative.
As the voice of the Nigerian youth, we pledge our continuous support for government policies and programmes aimed at improving the well-being of citizens. We also call on state and local government authorities to ensure transparency, accountability, and judicious use of these funds for the intended purpose.
Once again, we salute Mr. President for this remarkable milestone and for his continued efforts toward building a healthier, stronger, and more prosperous Nigeria.
