312 Artillery Regiment Troops Arrest Impersonator Following Intelligence Lead

KADUNA Troops of the Nigerian Army have arrested a man in Kaduna State for allegedly impersonating a retired Major General, military sources confirmed.

The suspect was apprehended on June 11, 2026 by personnel of the 312 Artillery Regiment deployed at the Strike Force Base in the Sabo area of Kaduna. The arrest followed actionable intelligence reports received by the unit.

According to military sources, the suspect had been posing as a retired Major General and conducting activities under that false identity. He is currently in custody undergoing preliminary investigation.

The Nigerian Army has reiterated its warning to the public against impersonation of military officers, noting that such acts constitute criminal offences under the Armed Forces Act and other relevant laws.

Investigation into the matter is ongoing.
